Announcements appear on this page during the course. 5/21: I updated the MidiPlyer.java file so it should play from a JAR file without any problems. For those of you who had problems, let me know if the new version does or does not fix the problem. 5/12: Here is a link to an interesting study: Video games' impact on US economy $18 bln: study 5/07: I decided to rearrange the material in lesson 11 to make adding sounds and music to games easier. I moved the sections on sound filters into lesson 12 followed by the SoundManager architecture. In lesson 11, I added new sections on easier ways to add sound effects and music to games. I will review the changes and cover the new material at the next class meeting. 4/12: We seemed to rush through lesson 8.3, and so I moved it to lesson 9. In addition, I rearranged and added some more material in lesson 8 to make it easier to understand. Because of this, I decided to extend the due date of A8: Developing the Gameplay and modified specification 9. Also, I rearranged the schedule of future topics based on the feedback I have received from students. We will go through these changes at the next class meeting. 3/20: Here is a link to a game contest that looks interesting: Game Developer Competition Time! 3/15: I made a design change to the ImageLoader class. The new class is compatible with the old class and will not break any of your code that already uses ImageLoader. 3/10: Since we did not finish the discussion on using a BufferedImage, I moved section 4.4 to lesson 5. We will finish up this section at the begining of our next class meeting. 3/10: WebCT and email is scheduled to be down for maintenance from 5:00 PM to about 7:30 PM today (Friday). 3/06: Since some people had problems with the JAR file, I added a sample asn03demo JAR file to A3: Drawing and Graphics 2/14: I updated A2: Programming with Java by adding a second Extra Credit option. 2/14: WebCT accounts should be available about 2 working days after you enroll in the course. If you have trouble logging in to WebCT after enrolling, please email or call me for help. Your initial WebCT password should be STUDENT. If STUDENT does not work, and you had a WebCT account last semester, you should try to login with your old password. If all else fails, I can reset your password.
