Announcements appear on this page during the course.
5/22: To use WebHawks, see the instructions on How To Use WebHawks.
2/20: Since some people were late enrolling in the class or confused about the first quiz, then I posted a Quiz 1 Makeup that you can take if you did not complete the first quiz. Please make sure you complete the makeup before the start of class on 3/12.
2/20: Notice for Mac users: sorry, but the XAMPP link was incorrect for Mac installation and the wrong version of MySQL was installed. The link is now fixed, but Mac users will need to reinstall XAMPP or you will have problems when you turn in your database files for grading. The files will not be compatible and you will get a low score on most assignments unless you reinstall.
2/15: It seems that SafariU had some problems and assigned a new link for online version of the textbook. I updated the course information page and here is the new link as well: http://www.safariu.com//online-syllabus.do?syllabusId=7076463400062855684.
2/12: To accommodate people to whom I just gave add slips, I am extending the assignment 1 due date to Friday 2/12. Check WebCT for the exact time. Also, I extended the Quiz 1 due date to Friday. If you have not enrolled in the course yet, you must enroll by Wednesday so that you can get entered into WebCT by Thursday. The college is closed on Friday and so waiting until Thursday will not give you WebCT access before Friday.
2/12: WebCT accounts should be available about 1 working day after you enroll in the course. If you have trouble logging in to WebCT after enrolling, please email or call me for help.
2/12: When visiting Web sites for assignment 1, you can tell which pages use PHP because the page you are viewing ends with the file extension .php. You can tell if a database is used because on one page you enter data into a form and another page uses the data you entered. In the assignment I gave an example of a registration page for saving data and a login page using the saved data. Remembering form data like this is almost always done with a database.
