6/03: The finals are graded and you can view your results in WebCT. For instruction on viewing your test results in WebCT, see the FAQ's page. The test was challenging and so I added 8 points to everyones score. There were 6 A's, 3 B's and 5 C's.
5/29: As a reminder, you can take the final exam from last semester in WebCT. Even though the final is comprehensive, you should be especially prepared to code classes, call the functions of objects, read and write text files and process data in arrays. In addition, you should recognize the parts of recursion and be able to trace recursive function calls. Also, you should be able to convert strings to numbers, work with pointers and create dynamic arrays.
5/13: I added lesson 10.2.6 with instructions on removing and renaming files.
4/22: I updated the sampler project specifications.
3/31: The midterms are graded and you can view your results in WebCT. I ended up giving full credit for some of the questions, whether you had the correct answer or not, because so many people missed them. We will go over the midterm at the next class meeting. For instruction on viewing your test results in WebCT, see the FAQ's page.
3/27: The other 3 people for the 8:00 PM shift of the midterm are:
- Chris Parsons
- Chris Robinson
- David Campbell
If you are scheduled for 8:00 PM and attend early, you can have a seat on a space available basis.
3/26: As a reminder, exercise 7.3 is optional and worth extra credit.
3/25: The practice midterm is now available for your studying pleasure in WebCT. You may take the test as many times as you like.
3/24: As a reminder, we will need to take the midterm exam next week in two shift. So far, the following people have agreed to start the exam at 8:00 PM rather than 6:00 PM. If anyone else is willing to start the midterm at 8:00 PM, please let me know ASAP.
- Pasha
- Matt
- Jason
- Josh M.
- Will
To the best of my knowledge, we need at least 8 people to start at 8:00 PM. If I do not get enough volunteers by Friday, then I will randomly pick more people.
3/24: As a reminder, exercise 7.3 is optional and worth extra credit.
3/03: As a reminder, exercise 4.4 is optional and worth extra credit. I modified it from the version I showed during class. You can turn in either version.
2/25: The login for the Pair Programming Survey is available from most pages of the course web site using the link "Prog. Survey". Your login is the same as your WebCT login and your initial password is the same as your login. Thus, for my fictitious login of EDPA0000, the initial Pair Programming login is: login: EDPA0000 passwd: EDPA0000 If you have problems logging in, please email me.
2/21: I updated the starter code for "A2: Compiling Expressions" to remove a g++ warning message for assignment 2. In addition, I corrected the error in the Sample Output for Expression 3. Thanks to Joe Strecker for pointing out the errors. The correct solution and improved starter code are posted.
2/18: As a reminder, exercise 2.4 is optional and worth extra credit.
2/17: I have extended the due date of assignment 1 and exercise 1 for the WebCT portion until 2/20 to accommodate those who are adding the class. If you have trouble with WebCT, please remember to bring your work to class in digital form so I can help you submit it.
