11/29: In preparing for the final exam, I noticed that the final exam schedule is different than I have been posting all semester. The actual final exam schedule is: 10:00am-12:50pm Wednesday, Dec. 14. Please update your calendar accordingly.
11/17: Thinking about your career? Take a look at the latest job outlook. Technical fields continue to be the best area for jobs.
11/16: There are no more CodeLab's due after CodeLab 11. I will update the schedule to reflect this change within the next week.
10/20: The midterms are graded and you can view your score and entire test in WebCT. We will discuss the midterm next class meeting. Also, please remember the midterm policy if you are concerned about your score.
10/10: I posted an updated grade_checks.xml file that checks for correct indentations. Please update your installations at home, etc.
10/04: If you know a lot about computer hardware and like to work on them, you should consider taking the CIS-160AA: A+ Certification Exam Preparation course. This 2 unit online course starts in mid-semester with an orientation meeting on October 20th from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
9/25: The CTC recommends that you copy any files you are using in your student folder to the desktop first and THEN open them.
9/11: Some people installed J2SE SDK 1.4.X rather than 1.5.X. You need 1.5.0 at a minimum for the course.
9/06: If you are concerned about high gas prices or a potential bus strike, you should consider attending one of the Transportation Alternates meetings. In the meeting they will discuss online carpool matching, vanpooling, bicycle rack and locker subsidies, park and ride lot facilities, bicycle and pedestrian hazard reporting, electric bicycle and neighborhood electric vehicle subsidies. Meeting times are shown below.
